What the inspector wrote

On August 16, 2022 at 11:14am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Indira Loza and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Mayla Mendoza arrived announced on a pre-licensing inspection and met with Applicant Patricia Sorto. There are no children in care during todays inspection. The purpose of the inspection was to grant a license for a small family daycare and to conduct a health and safety check. Operating hours will be 8:00AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Friday. The home is single family home with two bedrooms connected by a bathroom, three bathrooms, an additional play area at the entryway, a living room, and family room with a bathroom attached. The on limit areas will be the living room, the play area at the entryway, the bathroom on the left of the dining room, and the outdoor patio. The off limit areas will be the bedroom (Licensee's bedroom) to the left from the dining room, kitchen (only used to walk through to the outside patio) the family room, and two bathrooms, and the laundry room, which will be inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors or visual supervision. The ISOLATION AREA will be the living room. The outdoor play area will be at the park and the patio in the back. There are no pools, hot tubs or any other bodies of water during today's inspection. There was a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector in the hallway. Applicant has a working telephone. The applicant's CPR and First Aid certificate is current and expires on July 2023. Per Licensee, there are no firearms in the home. Applicant has a current Mandated Reporter certificate which expires on August 6, 2024. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 ***********************************************Report continues on 809C******************************************** minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
