Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Staff failed to treat resident with dignity and respect - UNSUBSTANTIATED It was reported that a care staff entered a resident’s room and raised their voice in front of Resident 1 (R1) causing them to feel they were not treated with dignity and respect. Staff interviews conducted did not indicate that staff have spoken to R1 in a manner that was disrespectful. Executive Director stated Staff absolutely positively would not treat a resident without dignity and respect. Ombudsman stated they have never witnessed staff treating R1 disrespectfully or without dignity. Resident 1 stated they have never had any problems in the way that staff interacts with them and staff treats them respectfully. It was determined that facility staff treat R1 with dignity and respect. This allegation is unsubstantiated. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, and the findings are UNSUBSTANTIATED. An exit interview was conducted. A copy of the report was provided to Executive Director John Crowley.
