What the inspector wrote

11/20/2025 09:45 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rebecca Knight arrived at the facility unannounced to conduct a 1-Year Required Annual Inspection. LPA met with administrator Mandy Elmaleh and licensee Catherine Kartwright and explained the purpose of the visit. LPA and the administrator toured facility together to ensure health and safety of residents in care. Areas toured include but are not limited to: common areas, six (6) resident rooms, two (2) bathrooms, kitchen, storage areas, and backyard. All bedrooms had required furnishings, lighting, and storage. LPA observed the kitchen, bathrooms, and common areas to be clean and in good repair. Facility has a 2-day perishable and a 7-day non-perishable amount of food. Food appears to be stored and prepared properly. LPA observed the menu and activities calendar to be posted for residents. Hot water temperature was measured within range. LPA observed two (2) fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors. Foothill Fire Protection services and tests the fire monitoring system of the home every six months. LPA observed medication, chemicals and knives locked inaccessible to residents. Medications were reviewed. LPA observed the facility to be clean, in good repair and odor-free. In the areas toured no immediate health, safety, or personal rights violations were observed. The facility is in substantial compliance, no deficiencies are being cited as a result of today’s inspection. Exit interview conducted and copy of report was provided to licensee Catherine Kartwright.
