What the inspector wrote

On 10/07/2025 at 09:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) David Doidge unannounced to conduct a 1-Year Annual Required Inspection. LPA met with Caregiver Javier Pimentel Guerrero explained the purpose of the visit. Administrator Timea Yost was called by phone and arrived 9:50 AM. The LPA toured the facility inside and out with Administrator Timea Yost. LPA inspected the kitchen, dining area, living room, bedrooms, bathrooms, front, side and back yards. LPA observed lighting in all rooms are adequate for the comfort and safety of the residents. Residents’ bathrooms are equipped with grab bars and non-skid mats. Hallway temperature was maintained at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The hot water temperature was measured in a shared bathroom at 109.2 degrees Fahrenheit. There is a minimum of one week supply of nonperishable and 2-day of perishable foods. Centrally stored medications, sharps and toxic are locked and inaccessible to residents in care. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors were in operating condition. Fire extinguisher was last serviced on 06/02/2025. Emergency Disaster Plan was last posted on 08/30/2025. Emergency disaster and fire drills are conducted quarterly; last conducted on 08/01/2025. First aid kit was observed to be complete. LPA reviewed four (4) residents records and five (5) staff records; all were complete. At 10:20 Am, LPA found medication in an unlocked kitchen drawer. The deficiency was observed (see LIC 809D) and cited from the California Code of Regulations, Title 22. Failure to correct the deficiencies may result in civil penalties.
