What the inspector wrote

As a result of this investigation, LPA finds the allegation that facility is not safeguarding resident's personal property to be SUBSTANTIATED. A finding that the complaint is Substantiated means that the allegation is valid because the preponderance of the evidence standard has been met. The following deficiencies were cited on 9099-D, per Title 22 Regulations, Division 6.

    87218-Theft and Loss-A licensee who fails to make reasonable efforts to safeguard resident property, shall reimburse a resident for or replace stolen or lost resident property at its current value. The licensee shall be presumed to have made reasonable efforts to safeguard resident property if there is clear and convincing evidence of efforts to meet each requirement specified in Section 1569.153. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on numerous documented thefts from resident rooms, licensee did not take the necessary steps to alleviate these continued thefts. This is in violation of this section. This poses a potential health and safety risk to residents in care.
