What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Shawna Doucette and Lady Cabrera while investigating complaint and toured the inside and outside of the facility. LPAs interviewed Resident (R1) in her bedroom. LPAs observed a Lysol on top of her bathroom counter. Chemicals were unsecured and accessible to the resident. During the investigation, it was discovered that facility is not keeping a centrally log medications for residents in care. Deficiencies cited on the attached 809D. Exit interview conducted.

This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Facility not keeping a centrally stored medication log for residents in care. Based on interviews and records review facility was not keeping a centrally stored log for medications of residents in care, which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based on pharmacy records review and facility records review Licensee is signing off on the MARS log indicating medication were administered, which does not reflect the amount prescribed by pharmacy records, which poses an immediate health, safety, or personal rights risk to persons in care which poses an immediate health, safety, or personal rights risk to persons in care.

    87465 Incidental Medical and Dental Care (a) A plan for incidental medical and dental care shall be developed by each facility. The plan shall encourage routine medical and dental care and provide for assistance in obtaining such care, by compliance with the following: (5) The licensee shall assist residents with self-administered medications as needed. This requirement was not met as evidenced byBased on records review and interviews, Licensee did not administer R1 and R2's medications as prescribed which poses an immediate health, safety, or personal rights risk to persons in care.
