What the inspector wrote

On 10/28/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) M. Medina arrived to conduct an announced Pre-Licensing inspection LPA introduced self, stated the purpose of the visit, and was granted entry to the facility. LPA met with Applicant, Gurbinder Sodhi. Facility is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home, with no residents in care. Fire clearance has been approved for six (6) residents of which three (3) may be non-ambulatory. LPA conducted a tour of the facility and observed the following. Facility appeared clean and at a comfortable temperature. Common areas were furnished with adequate lighting and seating available. Kitchen toured and observed to have a 7-day supply of non-perishable food available. Knives observed to be locked and secured under kitchen sink. Kitchen has a supply of plates, cups, utensils, pots, pans, and to be safe for food preparation. Resident bedrooms were toured and observed to have the required furnishings. All bedrooms were observed to be set up for single occupancy. Bedroom #1 is furnished with a Cal-king bed, while Bedroom #2 and Bedroom #3 are furnished with Queen size bed. Bathrooms toured and observed to be operational. LPA observed grab bars and skid-resistant mat. Hot water measured at 129 degrees F. Medications will be locked and secured in kitchen cabinet along with sharps. The new facility phone number will be (661) 827-2521, LPA observed phone to receive incoming calls during pre-licensing inspection. Smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector observed to be operational during today's inspection. Fire extinguishers present in the kitchen with a purchase date of 4/23/2025. First-Aid kit observed to have all required items. Exterior tour conducted. All exits open free from obstructions. There is seating but no shaded area for residents. LPA observed several areas in the backyard with miscellaneous items in need of removal such as cement stones, broken rake, large support stakes, and miscellaneous wood pieces. There are 2 holes that need to be filled in so avoid potential injury. LPA observed windows for bedroom #2 and bedroom #3 and small kitchen window to be missing screen or have a screen in need of repair. Exit gate from back yard is not self-latching. Pre-Licensing is complete with the following items to be resolved:. Water temperature to be within regulation of 105-120 degrees F. Provide shaded area outdoors for residents Replace and/or repair window screens for bedrooms #2, bedroom #3, and kitchen window Remove miscellaneous items from back yard, fill in holes in yard. Exit gate from back yard is not self-latching Per applicant, all items to be resolved by 11/01/2025. A follow up Pre-Licensing visit will be conducted upon completion of the items listed above, Component III will be conducted during subsequent visit. CAB will be notified of all updates.
