What the inspector wrote

wasn’t enough evidence to corroborate the allegation. Therefore, the allegation is deemed Unsubstantiated at this time. Facility is not providing adequate food service for residents: In regards to the allegation, it was reported that facility has false advertisement regarding their food. Residents were interviewed regarding this allegation, and expressed no complaints or concerns regarding the food service. LPA conducted an inspection of the kitchen to insure an adequate supply of perishable and non-perishable food, and that the food storage is maintained and the food is of good quality and not expired. Menus were also reviewed. Based on the information obtained, there wasn’t enough evidence to prove that the facility is not providing adequate food service. Therefore, the allegation is deemed Unsubstantiated at this time. Staff denies residents food: In regards to the allegation, it was reported that staff have been acting as a “food police” towards residents that are diabetic, or require special diet. Staff was seen taking food off these resident’s plates if they think it was too much. Interviews made with the administrator and staff who deny the allegation. Food is never withheld or taken from residents whether or not they require a special diet. For residents with a special diet, kitchen staff are made aware of their food restrictions and make sure their dietary plan is followed. Residents were interviewed and they also denied food ever being taken from them from staff, or being denied food service. Based on the information obtained, there wasn’t enough evidence to prove the allegation of staff denying residents food. Therefore, the allegation is deemed Unsubstantiated at this time.
