What the inspector wrote

On 7/16/2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Spaeth conducted an announced pre-licensing visit to this facility and met with the Applicant, Nicole De Las Alas. This is a new application. A fire clearance dated 4/29/2025 was received for six (6) ambulatory residents. The purpose of today’s visit is to inspect the facility to ensure that it maintains compliance under California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 6. Component III was conducted with the applicant from 10:00 am 10:30 am. LPA and the Licensee toured the physical plant inside and outside from 10:30 am until 11:15 am. LPA Spaeth observed the following: Living Room – the living room contained comfortable seating. Dining room – The room contained dining room table and chairs. Kitchen - The knives and cleaning solutions were locked in a kitchen cabinet. The facility contained a two-day supply of perishable food and a seven day supply of non-perishable food. A fire extinguisher is located in the kitchen area. The resident files, first aid kit and medications will be locked in a kitchen cabinet. Continued on 809-C Laundry Room – The room was locked and contained a washer and dryer, hygiene items and laundry detergent. Backyard - The backyard has a shaded area with a table and chairs. The gate leading from the back yard to the front yard was not locked. Water Temperature - The water temperature was tested at 11:00 am and was 108 degrees F. Bathrooms - The bathrooms contained hand soap, slip resistant mats, paper towels, grab bars and a trash can. Bedrooms – The bedrooms contained bed, linens, night stand, chest of drawers, a chair, and a closet. Hallway Closet - The hallway closet contained linens. Garage – the garage was locked.. The smoke/carbon monoxide detectors were tested at 11:10 am and were operable. The facility was clean and appears to be in good repair. The Licensee confirmed two external exits to Rooms Two and Four were installed along with an inner fire rated door. Once the license is issued, the Licensee will request another fire marshal inspection be completed so that the facility will be licensed for one bed ridden and five non-ambulatory. This report will be forwarded to the Centralized Application Bureau (CAB). You will be notified by the CAB Analyst when your license has been approved.
