What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cynthia Chan conducted the required annual inspection on 10/23/25. LPA arrived unannounced and met with licensee, Codruta (Carol) Valeanu. The reason for the visit was explained. The fire clearance is granted for (4) non-ambulatory and (1) bedridden residents ages 60 and above. There is a hospice waiver approved for (3) residents. LPA inspected the facility using the Compliance and Regulatory Enforcement (CARE) tools. The facility is a 2-story house in a residential area. The first floor consists of 3 resident bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living room, dining/kitchen, laundry area, and attached garage. The second floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The bathroom downstairs is used by the resident and has the non-skid mat plus grab bar. The facility is well maintained and has a spacious outdoor area with a table and chairs for resident use. Smoke detectors are interconnected and the carbon monoxide detector. Knives, cleaning supplies, and medications are locked. Facility has sufficient space to accommodate indoor and outdoor activities. Sufficient food supplies of 2-day perishable and a week of non-perishable items as well as water supply were observed. Information for appropriate reporting agencies are posted. The facility can accept or retain residents with dementia. The liability insurance is still current for the coverage of at least $1 million (per occurrence) and $3 million (total annual aggregate). LPA reviewed the licensee/administrator and another staff file. The Administrator's certificate expires on 1/21/27. Staff are fingerprint cleared and associated. LPA reviewed (4) resident files and their medications. The files contain the required documents and the medications are given as prescribed. The Emergency Disaster Plan has at least 2 relocation sites and drills are conducted. No deficiencies issued today. An exit interview was held and a copy of this report was given to the licensee.
