What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lady Cabrera conducted a subsequent Case Management visit to discuss information obtained from the initial visit conducted on 3/4/2021. Case Management was conducted via telephone due to COVID-19 and pre-cautionary measures. LPA spoke with Tyler Wilds, Administrator. During the investigation, Staff (S1) administered the wrong medication to Resident (R1) that was issued to Resident 2 (R2). R1 and R2 take the same medication and dose. R1 received a double dose of the medication. S1 immediately contacted her Supervisor and notified R1's doctor. The doctor instructed to monitored R1 for the next 12 hours. It was reported R1 did not have adverse reactions. S1 was retrained on administering medication on 12/14/2020. Based on the LPAs interviews and records review, the Licensee did not meet California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 6, Chapter 8, Section 87465(c)(2) Incidental Medical and Dental Care. Deficiency is being cited on the attached LIC 809-D. This is a second violation within the last twelve (12) month. First violation occurred on 11/17/2020. Civil Penalty in the amount of $250.00 is assessed. Exit interview conducted with Administrator and was provided with the LIC809, LIC809-D, LIC421FC and Appeal Rights.
