Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 07/25/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) R. Bruce arrived at the facility for an announced pre licensing inspection. LPA was greeted by Licensee/Administrator, Jenny Marcos and was allowed entry into the facility. LPA toured the facility inside and out with licensee. LPA entered through the front door and observed the required postings in the entry. LPA observed the residence to be a single story, 4 bedroom/ 2 bathroom home. There is a dining room and living room observed to have adequate furnishings and lighting. All bedrooms were observed to have beds, personal lighting, a chair and chest of drawers to accommodate 1 resident per room. LPA observed fire extinguisher to be new and charged with a service date of 003/2025. Smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector was observed in the kitchen and connected to the bedrooms, tested and found to be operational. Emergency lighting /flashlights and night lights are present in the hallway. LPA observed a adequate supply of towels. Hand washing signs observed. A supply of paper towels were observed in the bathrooms. Hot water temperature in bathroom measured within regulatory range. Non-Skid mats were present in the showers along with appropriate grab bars. Kitchen observed to have supply of dishes, plates, pots and pans. Food storage and preparation areas are clear and appropriate for food preparation. Cleaning supplies and chemicals are locked in the garage. A locked cabinet in the kitchen is designated to store medications. Sharps/knives were observed in a locked drawer in the kitchen. Appliances observed to be in working order. Continued LPA observed the backyard to have a shaded area to recreate, there is an in ground pool with appropriate fencing, locked and secured. There are no obstructions in the passageways and all walkways and exits are clear. The gate in the backyard is self latching. There is patio furniture and picnic table available. Locked shed in backyard serves as storage for lawn and garden maintenance equipment. Garage is clean and clear of any obstructions. Garage has storage cabinets and is clean and organized. Storage of some chemicals maintained and locked in that area as well. LPA Bruce and Administrator completed the COMP III presentation. Pre licensing is complete and this facility has no deficiencies.
