Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Ruth Martinez and Beverly Thompson-Gracia conducted an unannounced visit for the purpose of conducting a required inspection. LPAs were greeted and granted entry by caregiver. LPAs advised caregiver the nature of today’s visit. Administrator May Navarro Wallace arrived shortly after. LPAs began the tour of the facility accompanied by caregiver. The facility currently has six residents in care and no active covid-19 cases. LPAs observed residents in living room, dinning room and in their bedrooms. All residents appeared happy and well taken care of. Facility appears clean and sanitary. Facility staff screens all visitors to the facility and LPAs observed the screening station outside of the entrance of the facility. LPAs were screened per covid guidelines prior to entering facility. Facility keeps documentation in regard to covid for all the staff and residents. LPAs tested the hot water temperature in bathrooms which is used by the residents. The hot water temperature was measured at 113.5 Fahrenheit Degrees. LPAs observed the facility has covid precautionary postings, hand washing postings and all required department postings. Facility has an active covid-19 prevention plan in place for the safety of the residents in care. LPAs observed the supply of emergency food and water as well as the first aid kit in the facility. LPAs observed the facility has supply of PPE, incontinence, and cleaning supplies. Facility has sanitation precaution in place through out the facility and all common spaces. LPAs toured the outside and observed a pool with a locked gate around it as well as seating area for the residents. Facility has a second floor which is occupied by Administrator, there are no resident residing on the second floor. Second floor is inaccessible to residents in care. Facility bedrooms are currently single occupancy with all bedrooms being private. Facility has a plan for covid testing residents and staff as needed as well as a plan for isolation as needed. The facility has completed the LIC808 Mitigation plan and it was approved by the Department on May 13, 2021. Based on the observation made during today’s visit, no deficiencies were note today per Title 22 Division 6 of the California Code of Regulations. This report was reviewed with Administrator and a copy of this report was provided to the facility.
