What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samer Haddadin conducted an unannounced annual inspection at Divine & Gus Care Home. Upon arrival, LPA was greeted and granted entry by Administrator (AD) Divina Sablas. The facility is licensed to operate as a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) for up to six residents, age sixty and older. At the time of the inspection, five residents were present. During the inspection, LPA and AD tested smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors located in common areas and resident bedrooms; all devices were found to be operational. Resident bedrooms were observed to have the required furnishings, including beds with linens and adequate closet and drawer space for each resident. Fire extinguishers were observed mounted in the living room and kitchen areas, with the most recent inspection dated July 18, 2025. A review of the emergency drill log indicated that the last drill was also conducted on July 18, 2025. LPA observed all sharps and knives stored in a locked cabinet located in the dining room, along with residents’ centrally stored medications, which were properly secured and inaccessible to residents.Resident restrooms were inspected and found to be clean and in good repair. Water temperature measured at 118.6 and 116.9 degrees Fahrenheit, within the regulatory range. LPA and AD toured the backyard and observed a shaded seating area available for residents. Emergency exits were checked and found to be free of obstructions. A review of two resident files and two staff files showed all required documentation was complete and maintained in compliance with Title 22 regulations.Based on the observations made during today’s inspection, no deficiencies are being cited under Title 22, Division 6 of the California Code of Regulations. An exit interview was conducted, and a copy of this report was provided to the Administrator.
