What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) William Vanegas made an unannounced inspection for the purposes of conducting an annual inspection. Upon arrival LPA Vanegas was greeted and granted entry to the facility by Care Giver Chona Talam, and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA Vanegas met with Lead Care Giver Arniel Begosa, and began a tour of the facility and observed the following. This is a one storied home with eight bedrooms six of which are for residents, and two of which are for staff. The facility has an attached two car garage, and five bathrooms four of which are for residents and one of which is for staff and visitors. LPA Vanegas observed kitchen area to be clean and free of debris and mildew. LPA Vanegas observed a dishwasher, microwave, gas stove, refrigerator, washer, and a dryer all to be operational and in good repair. LPA Vanegas observed a two day supply of perishable food and a seven day supply of non-perishable food, as well as a sufficient amount of emergency water for residents in care and staff on duty. LPA Vanegas observed resident restrooms to be clean and free of debris and mildew. Water faucets and toilets tested to be operational and bathrooms consisted of appropriate furnishings such as shower chair, grab bars, and slip resistants floor matts. Water in bathrooms tested between 125.3 and 129.8. LPA Vanegas observed all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to be operational and in good repair. LPA Vanegas observed all fire extinguishers to be up to date, and fully charged. LPA Vanegas observed outside of the facility to consist of an outdoor shaded sitting area, the backyard is big enough to participate in outdoor activities upon resident request, and no obstructions were observed along emergency exit routes, side doors are self latching and unlocked. CONTINUED ON LIC809C LPA Vanegas observed all client bedrooms to consist of required furnishings such as a bed, clean linens in good repair meaning no strains or tears, a lamp, a chair, chest drawers, and sufficient storage space for personal belongings. LPA Vanegas observed rooms to be large enough to walk about freely and no obstructions were observed in entry ways of bedrooms. LPA Vanegas observed all toxins, sharps, and medications to be locked away and inaccessible to residents in care. LPA Vanegas reviewed all medications with Administrator (AD) Irvin Mendoza, and observed all medications to be properly documented, and per LPA Vanegas review medications are being administered per physicians orders. LPA Vanegas reviewed three staff files, and four resident files. All files staff and resident consisted of all required documents, and staff training is up to date. LPA Vanegas observed first aid kit to have all required items such as adhesive tape, scissors, tweezers, bandages, a thermometer, and a first aid manual. Based on observations made during today's inspection no deficiencies will be cited per title 22 chapter 8 division 6 of the California Code of Regulations. An exit interview was conducted with AD Irvin Mendoza, and a copy of this report was left at the facility.
