What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) William Vanegas conducted an unannounced visit in order to conduct an annual inspection. Upon arrival LPA Vanegas was greeted and granted entry to the facility by Caregiver (CG) Sonia Miranda. LPA Vanegas explained the purpose of the visit, and began a tour of the facility and observed the following. This is a one storied home with 10 bedrooms six of which are for residents and four of which are for staff. The facility also has five bathrooms two of which are full bathrooms and three of which are half baths. The facility also has an attached two care garage. LPA Vanegas observed kitchen area to be clean and free of any mildew and debris. LPA Vanegas observed there to be a gas stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, washer, and dryer. All appeared to be in good repair and tested operational. LPA Vanegas observed there to be a sufficient amount of emergency water, and a a two-day supply of perishable food and a 7 day supply of non-perishable food. LPA Vanegas observed all resident rooms to be clean and free of any debris blocking entry ways. LPA Vanegas observed resident rooms to have all required furnishings such as a bed, clean linens in good repair; meaning no tares are strains, a chair, a reading lamp, chest drawers, and enough storage space to store personal belongings. LPA Vanegas observed all restrooms to be clean and free of any mildew and debris. LPA Vanegas observed restrooms to have all required furnishings such as slip resistant floor matts, grab bars, and shower chair. Water faucets and toilets tested operational and water temperature tested between 104.3 and 106.4 degrees. CONTINUED ON LIC809C LPA toured the outside of the facility, and observed the backyard to be clean and free of any debris blocking the exit routes. Backyard is large enough to participate in outdoor activities upon residents request. There is also an outdoor shaded sitting area. LPA Vanegas reviewed four resident files and two staff files. All files (Staff and Resident) had all required documents, and staff annual training is completed and documented. LPA Vanegas reviewed medication administration record (MAR) with Administrator Harris Mendoza, per LPA Vanegas review all medications are being documented correctly and administered per physicians orders. LPA Vanegas reviewed first aid kit and observed first aid kit to have all required items such as tweezers, scissors, adhesive tape, bandages, a thermometer, and a first aid manual. LPA Vanegas observed all fire extinguishers to be fully charged and up to date, LPA Vanegas observed all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to be in good repair, and tested operational. Based on observations made during todays inspection no deficiencies will be issued per California Code of Regulations Chapter 8 division 6. An exit interview was conducted with AD Harris Mendoza and AD Daniel Rescia, and a copy of this report was provided to the facility.
