What the inspector wrote

On 04/04/25 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Javina George made an unannounced visit to the facility to conduct a 1 year required inspection. LPA was greeted and granted entry by caregiver Markangelo Higada, where LPA explained the purpose of the visit. The Administrator Jenny Castellanos arrived shortly after and accompanied LPA throughout the inspection. At the time of the visit there was (5) residents and (3) staff present. The facility was licensed 04/08/24 to serves residents aged 60 and over, all non ambulatory of which one (1) may be bedridden. The facility has an approved hospice waiver for (4), with (3) residents currently receiving hospice services. LPA verified contact information and will update the facility phone number. Per the file review conducted the facility annual fees were due by 4/8/25 and have been paid. LPA conducted a walk through of the interior and exterior areas of the facility. The facility was observed to be clean and clutter free. The food supply was observed to be sufficient as there was a 2 day supply of perishables and a 7 day supply of non perishable food items. The medications, chemicals and sharps were observed to be locked and inaccessible to residents in care. There are no pools or bodies of water on the premises, The fire extinguishers were observed to be fully charged and last checked/inspected on 2/24/25. The facility is conducting emergency disaster drills on a quarterly basis, the last drill was conducted on 1/24/25, with a drill being due this month. The hot water was tested and measured to be at 113.7 degrees Fahrenheit. The facility was observed to have caution hot water signs posted inside the restrooms. The smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were observed to be operable. Records review: all staff present at the facility have obtained proper criminal record clearance and were associated to the facility. Staff were observed to have completed the required training and were in possession of valid Cardio Pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training. The administrator certificate expires on 06/05/25. Resident files were observed to have medical assessments, admissions agreements and appraisals. The facility was inspected and was found to be operating in accordance with the California Code of Regulations (Title 22, Division 6, Chapter 8) as there were no citations issued during today's visit.
