Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

There were no visible injuries, and per the SIR submitted to the department, R1 did not complain of any pain. Additionally staff interviews revealed that R2 is a resident that does tend to wander frequently throughout the unit, which includes going in and out of other resident bedrooms. Based on observation and interviews the allegation of resident hit another resident in care is SUBSTANTIATED. A substantiated finding means that the preponderance of evidence standard has been met; therefore, the above allegation is found to be SUBSTANTIATED. An exit interview was conducted, where a copy of this report, 9099C, 9099D, and appeal rights were reviewed and provided to Aurelien Fruit, Administrator. Therefore, the allegation of facility is not providing a safe environment for residents is UNSUBSTANTIATED. A finding of UNSUBSTANTIATED means that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was provided to Aurelien Fruit, Administrator.
