“ Staff financially abusing resident's.” It was alleged that Staff #1 (S1), and Staff #2 (S2) were soliciting residents to provide cash gifts, paid vacations, and resident’s estates. It was alleged that staff working at the facility were aware of this but had failed to report it. The Department interviewed (5) residents. (3) of (5) residents revealed they never gifted staff cash gifts, paid for vacations, to left them their estate. (2) of (5) residents were unable to be interviewed due to cognitive condition. Interviews were conducted with (4) staff members including S1 and S2. S1 and S2 denied the allegations, and denied having knowledge of any staff accepting such gifts. (2) of (4) staff interviewed denied they ever accepted any gifts and denied having knowledge of any allegations. Therefore, the allegation is unsubstantiated. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is no preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated. An exit interview was conducted, and a copy of this report was provided.
