What the inspector wrote

Regarding the allegation of Resident's laundry needs were not being met, the Department found the following; based on interview, it was determined that R1's laundry was not done often times the days that the facility had laundry scheduled to be done. R1's family reached out to staff multiple times regarding this issue. Based on interview and record review, the preponderance of evidence standards has been met, therefore, the above allegation(s) is/are found to be SUBSTANTIATED. Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22 Division 6, Chapter 8, deficiencies are being cited on the attached 9099D during this visit. Appeal rights given

This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based on interview, the Licensee did not ensure R1's laundry was done on the day it was scheduled for. This poses a potential health and safety risk to residents in care.

This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based on interview, the Licensee did not ensure that R1 who was on hospice was receiving pain medication as needed in a timely manner. This poses an immediate health and safety risk to residents in care.

    87468.1 Personal Rights of Residents in All Facilities (a) Residents in all residential care facilities for the elderly shall have all of the following personal rights: (16) To receive or reject medical care or other services. This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based on interview and record review the Licensee did not ensure that R1's call button was answered in a timely manner. This poses a potential health and safety risk to residents in care.
