What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Sabrina Calzada arrived unannounced to conduct a required quarterly case management inspection. LPA met with Vera Okyere, Administrator, and Francis Tambu, housekeeping staff, and explained purpose of inspection. LPA observed (2) residents to be in the common area and (2) residents to be in their rooms at the start of the inspection. The facility is licensed for (6) non-ambulatory residents and has a hospice waiver for (4). Currently, there are (0) residents on hospice. Prior to initiating today's inspection, LPA completed required COVID-19 Department protocols, wore a surgical mask and was screened per Covid-19 precautionary measures upon entering the facility. LPA reviewed the binder with documentation of monthly training for all (3) staff to have been completed for January 2023. Topic was: Psychosocial Needs for the Elderly. Administrator confirmed specific medication training was not conducted for January, as required. Administrator agreed to conduct (2) medication trainings in February 2023. LPA reviewed HSC 1569.69 with Administrator which addresses all the required areas of medication training. LPA printed a copy of the HSC as requested by Administrator. Administrator to follow up this month in scheduling N95 FIT testing for self/staff as required. LPA advised the Department will conduct a subsequent quarterly visit on/around May 2023. There are no deficiencies cited in this report. Exit interview. Copy of report provided to Administrator.
