What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christina Valerio arrived announced to conduct a Pre-Licensing Inspection. LPA Valerio met with Administrator Albert Lopez, and explained the purpose of the visit. The facility is currently going through a Change of Ownership, which is why there are residents in care. The facility has an approved fire clearance to serve six (6) individuals. The fire clearance is granted for 5 non-ambulatory residents and 1 bedridden resident. A bedridden resident may occupy bedroom #5. Non - ambulatory residents may occupy bedrooms #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5. According to Administrator Albert, there will be no live-in care staff. Staff who are required to be awake and alert during the overnight shift will be primarily in the living room or walking around the home. LPA Valerio observed resident bedrooms to be fully furnished and free from odors. Resident bedrooms matched the facility's submitted and approved facility sketch. Resident bathrooms were fully stocked with hygiene supplies, equipped with proper hand rails, and observed to have skid mats. Common areas were fully furnished, organized, and free from obstructions. The facility was observed to have an adequate food supply. The garage was observed to be utilized for storage. The backyard was observed to have an area for outdoor visitation or activities. Gates located on the exterior area were observed to be in good repair. LPA observed medications, sharps, and toxins to be locked and inaccessible to residents in care. Component 3 was completed with LPA Valerio during the visit. LPA Valerio notified the facility of the new and updated Dementia Care Regulations that will go into effect January 1, 2025. The applicant has passed the pre-licensing component of the application process. LPA will notify the Central Application Bureau (CAB) that the pre-licensing has been completed and passed. An exit interview was conducted with licensee and a copy of this report was provided at facility.
