Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Holly Williams and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Czarrina Camilon-Lee arrived announced to conduct a pre-licensing inspection on 3/28/25. LPA Williams met with applicant Sherry Ahuja and explained the purpose of the visit. LPA Williams reviewed pre-made resident files, and other application documents. LPA Williams toured and inspected the physical plant inside and outside to ensure there are no safety hazards to residents in care. LPA Williams observed pipes, ladder, and bricks that need to be removed because it poses a hazard in the backyard. LPA Williams observed a jacuzzi that does not have water in it, but does have a hole in the back that needs to be covered, and the jacuzzi cover needs to be locked down. Applicant advised the jacuzzi will not be used and will not have water in it. LPA Williams observed rooms that do not have beds or chairs. The temperature inside the building was observed to be at 81 degrees Fahrenheit which is within the required range of 68-85 Fahrenheit. The hot water temperature was measured at 125.6 degrees Fahrenheit which is not within the required range of 105-120*F. The Component III has been waived because the licensee is currently an owner of 2 other RCFE's. LPA Williams observed that there were not 7 days of nonperishable food in the pantry.LPA Williams observed the centrally stored medications area to be locked and inaccessible to residents. LPA Williams observed the fire extinguisher(s) and first aid kits were up to date. LPA Williams observed smoke and carbon monoxide detector(s) were in good repair. Based on a review of this property during this Pre-licensing visit, it was determined that the applicant was found not to be in compliance at this time. LPA Williams will notify the Central Application Bureau (CAB) that the pre-licensing has been not been completed and passed. LPA Williams observed the ladder, bricks, and pipes have been removed and the jacuzzi cover was locked down by conclusion of the visit. LPA Williams will come back next week to follow up. An exit interview was held and a copy of the report was provided to Sherry Ahuja.
