What the inspector wrote

On 07/18/25 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Javina George made an announced visit and the facility to conduct a pre-licensing inspection. LPA met with the applicant, May Ann Haribhai whom accompanied LPA throughout today's inspection. The applicant has applied for a Residential Care for Elderly facility, with a capacity of six (6) non ambulatory residents, in addition to having an approved hospice waiver for four (4). on 04/23/25 the Escondido Fire Department granted a fire clearance for (6) non ambulatory residents. The facility is a single story structure consisting of four (4) bedrooms (2) of which are private and (2) are shared, two bathrooms, kitchen, dining area, living room/den, backyard with seating and covered area that provides shade and garage. The facility was observed to have a fully screen fireplace, and the required postings, and books, and games to encourage and promote socialization. The facility is equipped with solar panels, back up generator, fully charged fire extinguishers with the tag in tact. The combined smoke and carbon monoxide detectors tested and found to be operable. There are no guns or ammunition or bodies of water on the premises. LPA observed for there to be emergency supplies, including blankets, water and PPE supplies. The facility was observed to have adequate linen and personal hygiene supplies. The utensils and appliances were observed to be in good repair. The medications, will be stored in a locked cabinet inside the kitchen. The sharps are stored inside a locked drawer in the kitchen cabinet across from the refrigerator. The applicant successfully completed COMP III orientation on 07/08/25. Based on today, inspection the facility is ready for licensure. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was reviewed and provided to applicant May Ann Haribhai.
