What the inspector wrote

On 08/05/25 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Javina George made an announced visit to the facility to conduct a preclicensing inspection. LPA met with applicant Dulce Redford whom accompanied LPA throughout today's inspection. The applicant has applied for a Residential Care for the Elderly (RCFE). On 04/24/25 The San Diego Fire Authority granted a fire clearance for six (6) bedridden residents. The applicant has requested for a hospice waiver for four (4). The facility is a single story structure equipped with solar panels. The home consists of (6) bedrooms and (4) bathrooms, garage, backyard, mud room with a drinking fountain kitchen, laundry room, dining area, common area, and foyer with a reception area that will be used for visitation, and contained the required postings. The hot water was tested and measured to be at 113.4 degrees Fahrenheit. There are a total of (3) fully charged fire extinguishers. The combined smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and found to be operable. The bedrooms had the required furniture such as bed, lamp, chest of drawers, and chair. The bathrooms are equipped with grab bars as well as non skid mats. The facility was observed to have games to promote and encourage socialization. The dishes and utensils were observed to be in good repair. The medications will be stored in a locked cabinet next to the double ovens. The sharps and chemicals are stored in a locked cabinet underneath the kitchen sink. The facility is equipped with extra linen, emergency food and water supplies, including flashlights, first aid kit and a manual. There are no pools or bodies of water on the premises. The applicant has obtained liability insurance and requested to waive COMP III orientation. Based on today's inspection the facility is ready for licensure. An exit interview was conducted where a copy of this report was reviewed and provided to Dulce Redford, applicant.
