Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA)Tiffany Holmes contacted the facility to deliver findings for a complaint investigation via tele-virtual. LPA identified herself to, and explained the purpose of the visit and the basic elements of the complaint with Amy Patterson, Associate Executive Director. During the investigation, LPA toured the facility, conducted interviews and completed a records review. It was alleged that the facility staff violated residents personal rights. Interviews revealed that that if the residents do not chose a selected home care agency(ies) that the facility staff want them to choose, then they get threatened. Interviews revealed by the staff at the facility by doing this it does not allow the residents to choose an unbias option that includes variation in hourly costs or agencies. Interviews with residents stated they have not been threatened and that they have been given the choice to choose their own home care servicer. Interviews revealed the residents don't feel intimidated by the staff at the facility and that they in fact feel comfortable. Interviews revealed that it is the resident’s right to be able to choose which home care agency they want with the options available to them. Interviews revealed there haven't been any complaints from residents regarding not being able to choose their own home care agency. An unsubstantiated finding means that while the allegation may have validity, there is not enough evidence to conclude that the alleged violation occurred. Therefore, this allegation is deemed unsubstantiated An exit interview was conducted with Amy Patterson,Associate Executive Director, who received a copy of this report, and the Licensee Appeal Rights (9058 03/22) at the conclusion of the visit.
