What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elizabeth Hamilton conducted an unannounced case management visit at the facility. LPA gained access to the facility, met with Administrator, Rocio Granda and explained the purpose of the visit. The purpose of the visit was to discuss medication management for independent residents. During today’s visit LPA Hamilton briefly toured the facility, reviewed resident records and interviewed the Administrator. LPA observ ations revealed not all independent residents had a secured area to store their medications. A deficiency were cited during today's visit. See 809D page for citation and plan of correction. An exit interview was conducted with Administrator Granda and a copy of this report, LIC 809D and Licensee/Appeal Rights (LIC9058 01/16) were provided.

This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based on interviews, record reviews and LPA observations, Licensee did not ensure independent resident medications, including controlled substances were secured. This posed a potential health risk to 1 out of 85 residents in care.

This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based on interviews and records reviewed, Licensee did not notify R1 or amend the admission agreement when changing R1’s room. This posed a personal rights risk to 1 out of 75 residents in care.
