What the inspector wrote

On 09/30/2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) T. White conducted case management visit regarding COVID positive resident. LPA spoke with Executive Director(ED), Mary Margaret Chappell and explained the purpose of the visit. Based on information provided, Local Department of Public Health (LDPH) was informed that Resident #1 (R1) was COVID positive on 09/27/2021. Based on observation and interview, ED did not inform CCLD within 24 hours that R1 tested positive for COVID. ED stated there is currently no additional COVID cases at this time. ED stated she will submit incident report to CCLD by 09/30/2021 end of day. The following deficiency was observed (see LIC 809D) and cited from the California Code of Regulations, Title 22. Failure to correct deficiency may result in civil penalties. Exit interview with Executive Director. Appeal rights and a copy of report given.

LPA observed facility did not inform CCLD of COVID positive resident within 24 hours which poses as an immediate health and safety risks to residents in care.
