What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Renee Campbell arrived at the facility to conduct an unannounced annual inspection on 07/30/2025.  LPA met with Patty Lynn Brooks, Administrator and explained the purpose of the visit. LPA Campbell inspected the physical plant including but not limited to the common area, kitchen, dining area, client bedrooms, client bathrooms, laundry room and outside courtyards of the facility to ensure compliance with Title 22 regulations . This facility is a single story building licensed to serve six (6) non-ambulatory residents, two (2) of which may be bedridden. There are 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. One bedroom with a master bathroom is reserved for staff. The community has been granted a hospice waiver for two (2). LPA Campbell observed the facility to be free of odor, clean and in good repair. LPA observed bedrooms to be properly furnished with appropriate bedding and lighting. There are no bodies of water present . LPA Campbell observed sufficient seven-day non-perishable and two-day perishable food supplies. Hot water temperature was measured in the bathroom. The bathroom water temperature measured at 115 degrees. Fire extinguishers, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are in good repair. The community thermostat was observed at 75 degrees Fahrenheit. LPA Campbell checked medication storage and found medication to be locked away and inaccessible to clients. The first aid kit was complete and contained; tweezers, scissors, thermometer and first aid manual. LPA requested four (4) client files for review and observed that they were complete. Toxins were made accessible to clients in care. Toxins are stored in the laundry room, however the laundry doorknob locks are not accessible to residents in care and only staff may access it. All restricted areas were made inaccessible to residents using a biometric lock that can only be opened by staff. The following documents will be emailed to LPA Campbell ( Renee.Campbell@dss.ca.gov ) by 5:00 PM by end of day: (1) LIC 500 Personnel Report Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, no deficiencies were observed during today’s visit. A copy of this report was provided to the facility
