What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelly Dulek conducted a case management - deficiencies visit at the facility today. LPA met with Licensee Roberto Evangeline at 10:23AM and explained the reason for today's visit. During today's visit, LPA observed that Staff #1 (S1) and Staff #2 (S2) both have fingerprint background clearances, but are not associated to this facility. Interview revealed that S1 has been employed since 05/03/2023 and S2 has been employed for over 2 weeks at the facility. The following deficiency was observed (See LIC 809-D) and cited from the California Code of Regulations, Title 22 and/or California Health and Safety Code. Civil penalty issued in the amount of $600. Failure to correct the deficiencies may result in additional civil penalties. Exit interview conducted. A copy of the report and appeal rights were provided.

    87309 Storage Space (a) Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons, firearms and other items which could pose a danger if readily available to clients shall be stored where inaccessible to clients.This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the above cited section, as Clorox wipes were on the dining table and cleaning supplies were observed in the resident restroom, which poses an immediate safety risk to residents in care.

    87465 Incidental Medical and Dental Care (h) (2) Centrally stored medicines shall be kept in a safe and locked place that is not accessible to persons other than employees responsible for the supervision of the centrally stored medication.This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the above cited section, as medications were observed in an unlocked box inside the refrigerator, which poses an immediate health and safety risk to persons in care.
