Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 5/1/2024 LPA Tryon arrived at the facility to complete the complaint. LPA met with Licensee/ Administrator B. Scott Terry. LPA has spoken with staff and inspected the facility. Regarding the allegation that the staff are not ensuring the facility is mold free, LPA inspected the house and found no mold anywhere in the building. There had been some mold around a bathroom window, but it has been cleaned up and resident encouraged to open the window while the shower is going to vent the steam. So, there was some mold, but it was cleaned up right away when licensee became aware. Allegation is UNFOUNDED. Regarding the allegation that staff did not fix the roof in timely: LPA interviewed licensee/administrator and inspected building inside. It was learned that there never WAS a roof leak; the leak that happened in one bathroom was caused by a broken shower pipe in the wall. When it was learned that there was a leak, the licensee immediately fixed the leak, repaired walls, etc. Clothes and items were cleaned. LPA finds no current evidence of a leak. So, although there was a leak, as soon as licensee became aware he fixed and cleaned everything. Allegation is unfounded. A finding of unfounded means that the allegation is false, could not have happened and/or is without a reasonable basis. Exit interview conducted.
