What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection with Director Leslie James. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the director. In addition to the director, 32 children, five staff members, and five co-op parents were present today. This facility operates Monday through Friday from 8:45 am to 12:30 pm out of classrooms A, B (also known as Chipmunks/Bear), and C (also known as Owls). The facility was inspected both indoors and outdoors today for health and safety hazards. The following observations were made: The facility is equipped with a working fire alarm system, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone. No bodies of water were observed during the inspection, and the director confirmed there are no firearms or weapons on the premises. The center is in good condition, with appropriate temperature and ventilation, and is free from hazards. All furniture is in good repair, and the center has age-appropriate toys and equipment. The children's cubbies are labeled with their names. The outdoor play area is fenced for supervision. The play structure is age-appropriate and in good condition. The playground has six swings, all properly anchored. Kids' bathrooms include three toilets and two sinks, while the staff has a separate bathroom. The facility provides snacks for the children. All required postings are properly posted. The fire drill log indicates that the last emergency drill was conducted on 1/31/2025 and is properly logged. The facility utilizes the BrightWheel app to sign children in and out. All children's records reviewed were complete. All staff members have a criminal record clearance on file. The site director, along with the opening and closing teachers, holds current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification. All staff members have completed Mandated Reporter training. A facility roster was reviewed, and a copy was obtained. see next page. .. Criminal Record Clearance- F acility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Lead Testing \342\200\223 CCC COMPLETED TESTING Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP . Incidental Medical Services (IMS) This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of \342\200\234medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP .
