What the inspector wrote

On August 26, 2022, at approximately 8:00 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Simerjit Kaur arrived to conduct UNANNOUNCED RANDOM REQUIRED 1 YEAR SITE INSPECTION for school age program. LPA met with Program Director Monique Robles and Director Rebecca Hester. Present during the inspection are no school age children. The facility was toured for a health and safety inspection. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 1:30pm to 6:00 pm and during summer Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. This school age program operates out of the 3 classrooms: Maples, Oak, and Redwood. The classrooms have age appropriate furnishings, equipment, and adequate storage for children\342\200\231s belongings. There are school materials and art supplies are stored in the storage cabinets. The classrooms have working carbon monoxide detector, smoke detectors/fire alarms and a fully charged fire extinguisher size 3A40BC. The floors were free of tripping hazards during today's inspection. The storage containers for solid waste have tight-fitting covers. All required postings are present. The facility serves snacks and the menu is also posted. There is drinking water readily available to children indoors and outdoors. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children were inaccessible during the inspection. The outdoor play area is fully fenced. There is sufficient cushion underneath and around the climbing structure. Outdoor activity space and playground equipment was observed to be safe during today's inspection . There are no pools, hot tubs or other accessible bodies of water on the premises. Per director, there are no firearms present on the premises. Continued on LIC809C The center is in compliance with the sign in and out procedure. Children and staff records were reviewed and contained required licensing documents.. All required documents are posted for public review. LPA reviewed and obtained facility roster. Director also has conducted and documented fire/earthquake/disaster drill training on 6/8/22. Teachers meet the qualification requirements. All Staff members have current CPR/First Aid certificate and have current mandated reporter training. The facility is operating within its licensed capacity. LPA verified both opening and closing staff have current CPR/First aid training. This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. The facility has documentation for IMS. For IMS information, see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Director was reminded of the responsibility as a mandated reporter. Director was encouraged to frequently visit our website at www.ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and updates, and to also email childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov to be included in the Child Care Quarterly Updates distribution list. All forms can be downloaded at www.ccld.ca.gov There are no deficiencies cited . This report shall remain on file for 3 years. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
