What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Director Darlene Lopez for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the director. In addition to the director, there are 28 children and 3 staff present today. The Facility consists of three rooms: Room #1(3years old), Room #2 ( 2 years old) and Room #3 (4 years old).The facility operates Monday - Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm.The facility was inspected indoor and outdoor today for health and safety hazards and the following was observed. The center is in good condition with proper temperature and ventilation and is free of any hazards. All furniture is in good repair. The Center has age-appropriate toys and equipment. The outdoor play area is fenced for supervision. The play structure is age-appropriate and in good condition. There is combined bathroom for boys and girls in room #2 which has 3 toilets and 2 sinks. There are separate bathrooms for girls and boys in room #3. The bathrooms appear to be safe, sanitary, and free of any hazardous items. There is drinking water readily available for children. The program provides daily snacks however, the children bring their own lunch. The classroom has appropriate postings. The last Emergency Drill was conducted on 01/15/2022 and is properly logged. The napping room had cots in good condition and each child have their separate blankets. The blankets are washed weekly by the Parents. The center is in compliance with the sign in and out procedure. The center uses an electronic sign in/out and has a waiver posted near the office. LPA reviewed sign-in and out sheet. The center has a complete record of sign-in/out sheets by an authorized pick up person. There are multiple first aid kits available. The facility does not have functioning carbon monoxide detector. There is a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone available. Per director, there are no bodies of water, firearms, or weapons on the premises. The Playground has safe and age appropriate equipment. All required documents are posted for public review. The director and one staff member have a current CPR/First Aid certificate. Continue on page 2 During inspection, Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. This facility does not provide IMS (Incidental Medical Services) to children currently. If any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
