What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met facility representative, Alexandra Ferraro for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the facility representative. During the inspection, no children were present.  The program consists of two sessions: 7:00 am to 8:15 am and 12:10 pm to 6:00 pm Monday - Friday in the portable rooms  EDCC #1 (AKA guppies ages TK-1st grade) and room # EDCC 2 (AKA Sharks ages 2nd grade to 5th grade) on the Dublin ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CAMPUS. The facility was inspected indoors and outdoors today for health and safety hazards, and the following was observed; There is a working fire alarm system at the elementary. Both the rooms have a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone available. During the inspection, LPA did not observe any bodies of water. Per director, there are no firearms in the premises. The center is in good condition, has proper temperature and ventilation, and is free of hazards. All furniture is in good repair. Each classroom has a menu posted for the entire month. The facility provides snacks. LPA reviewed food storage and observed that all food was in its original packaging or labeled with an expiration/open date. The classroom has appropriate postings. Per fire drill log, the last drill was conducted on 3/10/2025. The outdoor play area was free of hazards. Medications are stored on a high shelf, inaccessible to children in care. The facility utilizes the KT app to sign in and out the children. Boys and girls have separate bathrooms. The bathrooms appear neat and clean. The children's and staff records reviewed were complete. All staff have a criminal record clearance on file. The opening and closing staff members have a current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate on file. The facility roster was reviewed, and a copy was obtained. see next page. Criminal Record Clearance - Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Lead Testing – CCC COMPLETED TESTING Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP . Incidental Medical Services (IMS) This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of “medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP .
