What the inspector wrote

On March 20, 2023 at approximately 12:40 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lorraine Dacanay Breaux arrived to conduct and Unannounced Case Management - Lead Testing Results for KinderCare Learning Center. LPA met with Director Tywanda Hope Bartlow to review the results of the recent lead testing. There were 101 children in care and 20 associated staff members. LPA conducted an inspection and toured the premises with director. It was indicated that 3 outlets exceeded the Action Level established by the stated for exposure. LPA discussed Plan of Correction and facility has submitted the documentation for the post-testing requirements. On December 10, 2022 a lead test sample was drawn at the facility. There were values greater than 5.5 ppb is deemed an Action Level Exceedance and requires the issuance of a deficiency and a Plan of Correction. The faucets A have not been in use (only use for hand washing), and water fountains R and S. In addition, children bring their own bottled water from home and when needed staff refill from another area of the facility. LPA viewed a plan of correction and the lead testing results posted in a public area. All parents have been informed of the test results and received a copy of the plan of action. In addition to the above, a Type B deficiency and plan of correction was documented and issued today, see LIC809D . A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the director Hope Bartlow.

This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based on observation and documentation of the Lead Testing Result, the facility has 3 (three) water outlets that exceeds the 5PPB level.
