On November 13th, 2025 at approximately 1:30pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) April Wright met with licensee Katie Hoa Do for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the home by the licensee. Present during todays inspection were twelve (12) children (2 infants / 10 preschool age), the licensees 2 assistants. LPA toured the home to conduct a health and safety inspection. Licensee is in ratio today. Hours of operation are 7:30am - 5:00pm Monday through Friday. The two story consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen/dining room, family room area, front and back yard and garage. The home was neat and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort of children of in care. There are age appropriate toys that the LPA observed to be in good condition, free of visual damage or hazards. LPA observed and licensee confirmed that there are no hazardous materials, including cleaning products, chemicals or toxins present during the inspection. LPA observed and licensee confirmed that there are no pools, hot tubs or any other visible bodies of water present in the home or accessible to children in care. The home has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working smoke/carbon monoxide detector, fully stock First Aid Kit and mobile telephone. Licensee confirmed and LPA observed that there no firearms or weapons of any kind located in the home. On limits: Kitchen/dining/family room combo, the living room, downstairs bedroom, two bathrooms located on the first level of the home. Off-limits: the entire second level of the home, laundry room, walk in closet located inside the first floor bedroom. The off limits areas are and will be made inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors, child safety gates and visual supervision. The isolation area is in the living room which is a away from other children in care. There is a fireplace in the family room area that is barricaded by a cabinet and has a screen, is locked and inaccessible to children in care. See LIC809C for continuance. All individuals subject to criminal record review have a clearance or exemption and have been associated to this Family Child care home (FCCH). LPA requested and reviewed the files of six (6) children in care. The children's files contained all required licensing forms including Parents rights, medical consent forms and identification and emergency contacts. The facility roster was review and copies were obtained. The licensee conducts fire and disaster drills twice a year and the last was conducted on 10/17/2025. Licensee has all required licensing forms needed when children are enrolling in care. CPR/First aid certificate was completed and expires on 6/1/2026 and Mandated Reporter training was expires on 3/23/24. Licensee assistants have completed CPR/First aid and mandated reporter training. All required forms are posted and visible for public review upon entry to the home. The licensee is in compliance with the immunization laws which pertains to all childcare providers. Licensee was reminded that training certificates must be renewed every 2 years. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. During the exit interview, the Licensee Do confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
