On October 10th, 2025 at approximately 11:40am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) April Wright met with licensee Angela Vergara for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the home by the licensee. Present during todays inspection were eight (8) children ( 1 infant / 7 preschool age) the licensee assistant and mother. LPA toured the home to conduct a health and safety inspection. Licensee is in ratio today. Hours of operation are 8:00am - 5:30pm Monday through Friday. The single story home consists of three (3) bedrooms including master, two (2) bathrooms including master, living room, kitchen/dining room, sun room, family room and garage. The home was neat and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort of children in care. There are age appropriate toys that the LPA observed to be in good condition, free of visual damage or hazards. The isolation area family room which is away from other children in care. LPA observed and licensee confirmed that there are no hazardous materials, including cleaning products, chemicals or toxins present during the inspection. LPA observed and licensee confirmed that there are no pools, hot tubs or any other visible bodies of water present in the home. Licensee has day care insurance through Markel Insurance Company. LPA reviewed and verified the policy is current. On limits: sun room (day care room), family room daycare room), dining room, hallway bathroom and backyard. Off-limits: Living Room, two bedrooms, kitchen, garage, and the master bedroom/bathroom. The off limits areas are and will be made inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors, child safety gates and visual supervision. The home has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher located in the daycare room (sun room), working smoke/carbon monoxide detector, fully stock First Aid Kit and mobile telephone. LPA observed and licensee confirmed that there are no firearms or weapons of any kind in the home. See LIC809C for continuance All individuals subject to criminal record review have a clearance or exemption and have been associated to this Family Child care home (FCCH). LPA requested and reviewed the file of eight (8) children in care. The children's files contained, Parents rights, medical consent forms and identification and emergency contacts. Licensee has required licensing forms needed for when children are enrolling in care. The facility roster was review and copies were obtained. The licensee conducts fire and disaster drills twice a year and the last was conducted on 1/24/2025. CPR/First aid certificate was completed and expires on 10/16/2025 and Mandated Reporter training was completed on 1/17/2024. Licensee showed proof of enrollment to the LPA for upcoming CPR/First Aid class. Licensee will provide training certificate once class is completed. All required forms are posted and visible for public review upon entry to the home. The licensee is in compliance with the immunization laws which pertains to all childcare providers. Licensee was reminded that training certificates must be renewed every 2 years. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee Vergara confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
