What Happened

Annual inspection of family child care home. Safety equipment present and operational, both licensees have current training. Type A and Type B deficiencies were identified and cited during the visit.

Observations

  • Two licensees: Carmen Colon-Price and Carmen Bielefeldt
  • 4 infants and 6 preschool-age children in care
  • One-story home observed neat and clean
  • Good heating and ventilation for safety and comfort
  • Isolation area: small bedroom at rear of home
  • On-limit areas include living room, dining room, small rear bedroom, and bathroom by laundry room
  • Off-limit areas made inaccessible with gates, closed doors, and locks
  • Age-appropriate toys observed, safe and in good condition
  • Fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher present
  • Working smoke detector present
  • Working carbon monoxide detector present
  • Telephone in home
  • Operating within licensed capacity and in correct ratio
  • No pools, hot tubs, or other bodies of water present
