What Happened
Annual inspection of family child care home. Safety equipment present and operational, both licensees have current training. Type A and Type B deficiencies were identified and cited during the visit.
Observations
- Two licensees: Carmen Colon-Price and Carmen Bielefeldt
- 4 infants and 6 preschool-age children in care
- One-story home observed neat and clean
- Good heating and ventilation for safety and comfort
- Isolation area: small bedroom at rear of home
- On-limit areas include living room, dining room, small rear bedroom, and bathroom by laundry room
- Off-limit areas made inaccessible with gates, closed doors, and locks
- Age-appropriate toys observed, safe and in good condition
- Fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher present
- Working smoke detector present
- Working carbon monoxide detector present
- Telephone in home
- Operating within licensed capacity and in correct ratio
- No pools, hot tubs, or other bodies of water present
