What the inspector wrote

On Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 2:53 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Caroline Colson met with Roxana Ferreira, Gabriella Guimarey Ferreira and Francesca Ferreira Caruana for an unannounced random annual inspection. There are 8 preschool children present. The home was toured to conduct a health and safety inspection. Hours of Operation are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Mondays - Fridays. Indoor Space : The home is a one story home. The home consists of a living room, kitchen, three bedrooms, bathroom, unfenced front yard, garage, fenced backyard which includes two sheds and a garden. Ms. Ferreira will use the fenced back yard for outdoor play. The home has a 2A10BC fire extinguisher and a working smoke detector and a working carbon monoxide detector. There is a heating in the living room. Ms. Ferreira states there are no firearms in the home. The living room is the isolation room. She conducts fire/disaster drills every six month. Ms. Ferreira's infant CPR and First Aid certificates are current and expire on August 31, 2023. There is a first aid kit. There are no pets. Outdoor Space : The fenced back yard will be used for outdoor play space. The entire area was inspected to ensure the health and safety of the area. There are no pools, hot tubs or any other bodies of water on the premises. Off Limit Areas : The back bedroom and garage. Licensee will send her current Mandated Reporter Training Certificate for the file. Family Child Care Homes Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Safe Sleep LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Notice of Site Visit A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit Interview Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Roxana Ferreira There were no deficiencies cited during this inspection.
