What the inspector wrote

On February 11th, 2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Kassandra Medrano met with the Licensee, Lorena Alejandre. The purpose of the visit was to discuss an incident that occurred on January 31, 2026. There were no children present during inspection as the facility is awaiting permission to begin operating. The licensee, Lorena, reported to the Regional Office (RO), that on the date mentioned above, a fire occurred in the church kitchen located on the premises. The licensee stated that the facility does not utilize the kitchen for child care operations as the children bring meals from home. The incident occurred on a Saturday when the facility was not in operation, and the licensee reported that no children were present at the time of the fire. The licensee further reported that the San Leandro City inspector responded to the incident and requested that the facility close operations operations until the classrooms were properly sanitized. The facility contracted "Belfor Property Restoration" who conducted sanitization of the classrooms and facilities used by the children on February 1,2026 through February 4,2026. On February 10, 2026, the facility was inspected by the San Leandro building inspector and was given clearance to reopen operations. Present today, there were not health and safety concerns. The facility appeared to be clean and operable. Based off of clearance from the San Leandro building inspector and observations made today by LPA Medrano the facility can reopen operations as of today 2/11/26. No deficiencies were issued during today\342\200\231s inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Lorena.
