What the inspector wrote

On 5/24/22 at 11:11am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Briana Plumboy arrived for the purpose of an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection. LPA Plumboy met with the Director, Adrienne Clay who was present with 2 staff members who are fingerprint cleared and associated. At 11:45am, 16 preschool age children and 1 ABA therapist arrived at the center for the PM session. The facility operates Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM and 11:45 AM - 2:45 PM. This facility operates on the campus of Grant school in room 4. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children were inaccessible during the visit. The toilets and sinks were in operable condition. The floors are free of tripping hazards during today's inspection. All storage containers for solid waste have tight-fitting covers that are in good repair. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Snack menus are posted and visible for parents to review. There are no pools or similar bodies of water at this facility during today's inspection. Outdoor activity space is in a fenced yard located through the back door of Room 4. There is a shaded area provided for the children. Fire/Disaster Drills are conducted on a monthly basis with the last fire drill conducted on 4/11/22 and earthquake drill conducted on 4/13/22. The facility is operating within its licensed capacity. The facility is within ratio today with one teacher supervising no more than 12 children. LPA did not observe any child left without visual supervision or unattended during the inspection. All staff have required immunization and mandated reporter training certificates. Director has proof of a current First Aid/CPR certificate. Children and staff files were reviewed. A facility roster was provided by the Director. All of the correct postings were on the wall. The first aid kit and sign in sign out sheet (electronic) were reviewed and found to be complete. Director was encouraged to frequently visit our website at www.ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and updates. See 809-C and 809-D for continuance Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. This facility does not provide IMS (Incidental Medical Services) to children currently. If any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
