What the inspector wrote

On June 29, 2022, Licensing Program Analyst, Simerjit Kaur met with Angie Lopez for an UNANNOUNCED 1-YEAR RANDOM INSPECTION . There were 24 children, 9 staff members and 3 ADA therapists in the facility. The center is a preschool with a toddler component. The facility is within ratio and capacity compliance today. Facility operating hours are 7:00am- 5:30pm Monday- Friday. The facility was toured to conduct a health and safety inspection. The facility operates in a portable on the campus of Las Positas College. The classroom is clean with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. This program operates out of toddler classrooms #1, #2, #3 and Pre-school classrooms #1, #2, #3, and #4. All classrooms were inspected for age appropriate furnishings, equipment, and adequate storage for children\342\200\231s belongings. There are safe age-appropriate toys and learning materials available to children throughout the classrooms. All hazardous materials and toxins including disinfectants and cleaning solutions were observed to be made inaccessible to children during today's inspection. Furniture accessible to children was observed to be age-appropriate, in operable condition, and free of loose, sharp, or pointed parts. The menus are posted in each classrooms. The facility provides breakfast and snacks. The facility requires children to bring their own lunch. All required postings are posted. LPA also reviewed the storage of medication and medical equipment/supplies and is inaccessible to the children. The bathrooms have age appropriate faucets and toilets in working condition. LPA toured the outdoor play area. All play equipment was observed to be operable and age-appropriate during the inspection. Areas around slides and high climbing equipment have cushioning material to absorb falls. Uncontaminated drinking water is available to children in the outdoor/indoor area. There are no pools, hot tubs, ponds, or any other bodies of water accessible to children during today's inspection. Per director, there are no firearms present on the premises. Continue on LIC 809 C The facility has fire extinguishers and working carbon monoxide detector in each room.The smoke detectors and fire alarms are monitored by Campass Company. Children's files and staff files were reviewed for proper documentation. At least one staff member has current CPR/1st Aid certificate. All staff members have current mandated reporter training and immunization. A copy of the facility personnel roster and children\342\200\231s roster was obtained. The center also conducts and documents fire and earthquake drills once every 6 months and the logs show that drills were conducted on Toddlers room 2 & 3 on 5/23/22, Preschool room 3 on 6/28/22, Preschool room 4 on 5/20/22. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services - IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment /supplies, and reviewed child's file, personnel and administrative records. A notice of site visit was given and must be posted for 30 days. This report must remain available for public review for 3 years.
