What the inspector wrote

On May 6, 2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Indira Loza met with Licensee LaDonna Bridges for a Required 3 year inspection. Present during the inspection were three (3) infants, one preschool-aged child, the Licensee, and the Licensee's Assistant. Residing in the home is the Licensee, her spouse, and adult son. The daycare areas were toured for a health and safety inspection. The Licensee has named her daycare "Donna's Kiddy Kare". The facility operates 6:00am – 5:30pm, Monday - Friday. The home is a single family house consisting of three (3) bedrooms, one (1) bathroom, dining room, kitchen, basement converted into washroom, fully fenced in backyard with a walkway on the right side of the house (when facing the house from the street). Off Limit Areas : are the upstairs bedroom, bedroom on the left of the bathroom, washroom, kitchen, and the walkway on the side of the house. The off limit areas are made inaccessible by gate, closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. On Limit Areas : Living Room, dining room, bathroom, and bedroom (naproom) on the right of the bathroom, when facing the hallway from the kitchen Isolation Area: in the living room or nap room depending on which activities are taking place The entrance to the daycare is through the main entry of the house. The inside and outside of the home were observed to be neat, clean with age-appropriate materials and toys for the children. All toxins, cleaning products, medications, and hazardous materials were observed to be in inaccessible areas. The home has a central heating system. Licensee stated there are no firearms in the home. There were no pools or any bodies of water on the daycare premises. The home has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher in the hallway next to the nap room, a working smoke alarm system throughout the house, a working carbon monoxide detector located in the hallway. Licensee has a working telephone, and all required forms are posted and visible for public view near the main entrance of the daycare. The licensee conducts and documents fire and disaster drills twice a year with the last one conducted on 3/13/26. The Licensee's CPR and First Aid certificate is current and expires on 4/12/27. The Licensee's mandated reporter certificate is current and expires on 4/9/27. LPA reviewed four (4) children files, and all children files were complete. The Licensee's file was reviewed and was complete. The Licensee's Assistant's file was reviewed and complete. Licensee LaDonna Bridges was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee LaDonna Bridges and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee LaDonna Bridges was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, Licensee LaDonna Bridges, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
