What Happened

Required inspection identified four deficiencies: open bag of dishwasher pods left accessible under sink, unreported home alteration/addition constructed December 2023, infant sleeping with loose blanket in crib violating safe sleep regulations, and missing infant sleep plan for one infant under 12 months.

Observations

  • Deficiency: Open bag of dishwasher pods found under sink in on-limits kitchen (left there accidentally prior night) - cleaning products must be inaccessible to children
  • Deficiency: New room added to back of home (attached to sliding glass door exit) not reported to Department prior to construction. Built December 2023 when daycare closed. Licensee reminded all alterations/additions to daycare grounds must be notified to Department.
  • Deficiency: Infant observed napping with blanket in crib. Licensee stated parents requested blanket. Safe sleep regulations require no loose objects in cribs. LPA instructed removal and licensee immediately complied.
  • Deficiency: One infant file under 12 months missing infant sleep plan on file
