What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Director Rina Jarin for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection of this combination daycare center's Infant / Toddler component. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the director. At present, there are the director and six staff members supervising 17 infants/toddlers. The facility operates Monday - Friday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm in room#11 and room #12. The facility was inspected indoors and outdoors today for health and safety hazards, and the following was observed; There is a working fire alarm system. The room has a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone available. LPA did not observe any body of water during today's inspection. Per facility representative, no firearms are stored in the facility. The Center is in good condition, has proper temperature and ventilation, and is free of any hazards. All furniture is in good repair. Infant changing tables are within reach of a sink. Each child has a separate crib. The facility provides bedding and sheets to each child, and laundry is completed by the end of each day. The program requires the parents to bring daily snacks and lunch. LPA observed that each child's food and bottles were labeled. The classroom has appropriate postings. The last Emergency Drill was conducted on 05/03/2024 at 8:45 am and is properly logged. The outdoor play area is fenced for supervision and is separate from the preschool play area. The play structure is age-appropriate and in good condition, with sufficient cushioning underneath. The facility uses the Bright Wheel app to sign in, sign out the children, and document a 15-minute sleep check. The center roster was reviewed, and a copy was obtained. A review of children's files and staff files was completed. All the infant files have an infant feeding plan, Needs and Services plan, and Infant Individual Sleeping plan (LIC 9227) placed on the files. All staff has a criminal record clearance on file. The opening and closing staff member have a current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate on file. All the staff members have current Mandated reporter training on the file. see next page.. During inspection, Criminal Record Clearance - Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Safe Sleep - LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Lead Testing \342\200\223 CCC COMPLETED TESTING Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance with the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP .
