What the inspector wrote

On November 6th, 2025 at approximately 1:50pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) April Wright met with licensee Nazia Ali for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the home by the licensee. LPA toured the home to conduct a health and safety inspection. There are no children present in care at time of inspection. Present during inspection was the licensees daughter and son. Hours of operation are 8:30am - 5:45pm Monday through Friday. The consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen/dining room, family room (daycare room), backyard, and garage. The home was neat and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort of children of in care. There are age appropriate toys that the LPA observed to be in good condition, free of visual damage or hazards. LPA observed and licensee confirmed that there are no hazardous materials, including cleaning products, chemicals or toxins present during the inspection. LPA observed and licensee confirmed that there are no pools, hot tubs or any other visible bodies of water present in the home or accessible to children in care. The home has a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working smoke/carbon monoxide detector, fully stock First Aid Kit and mobile telephone. Licensee confirmed and LPA observed that there no firearms or weapons of any kind located in the home. On limits: Family room(day care), 1/2 bathroom, kitchen and cement/patio portion of backyard located off the family room. Backyard is completely fenced and free of visual damage or hazards. Off-limits: Living Room (first level of the home), Entire upper level of the home which consists of all 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and garage. The off limits areas are and will be made inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors, child safety gates and visual supervision. The licensee has child safety gate in place to prevent access to the second level of the home. There is a fireplace which is barricaded with a screen, locked and inaccessible to children in care. See LIC809C for continuance All individuals subject to criminal record review have a clearance or exemption and have been associated to this Family Child care home (FCCH). Licensee has no children in care at time of visit. LPA observed that licensee has all required licensing forms for when children are enrolled in care. The facility roster was review and copies were obtained. The licensee conducts fire and disaster drills twice a year and the last was conducted on 5/14/2025 when children were in care. CPR/First aid certificate was completed and expires on 5/2026. Mandated Reporter training was completed and expires on 5/1/2026. All required forms are posted and visible for public review upon entry to the home. The licensee is in compliance with the immunization laws which pertains to all childcare providers. Licensee was reminded that training certificates must be renewed every 2 years. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. During the exit interview, the Licensee Ali confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Report was read and reviewed with licensee Nazia Ali.
