What the inspector wrote

On 9/24/25, Licensing Program Analyst Briana Plumboy, met with assistant Alexandra Catano for an UNANNOUNCED RANDOM INSPECTION. Present for this visit was 1 infant, 6 preschool age children, and fingerprint clear assistants Alexandra Catano and Rosa Padilla. Licensee was available by phone. The home was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. Upon arrival LPA provided assistant Catano a copy of the Entrance Checklist (LIC 126). The home was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. The facility currently operates Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:30pm. The home is a two story home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, family room, office, kitchen, dining area, garage and back yard. LPA observed the home to be neat and clean with central heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The OFF-LIMIT AREAS are the bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, living room, and garage and are inaccessible to children by locked doors, safety gates and visual supervision. The ON-LIMIT AREAS are the front family room and office which are converted into child care space, adjoining bathroom, and backyard. The facility\342\200\231s outdoor play space is located in the backyard of the home. The anchored play structure, equipment, and fence are all in safe condition during today's inspection. There is shade available and gates are closed at all times while children are in the yard per assistant Alexandra Catano. There is one hot tub in the off-limit area of the back yard which is barricaded by a 5 foot pool fence that does not obstruct the view. The gate to the pool fence is self-closing, self-latching, and opens away from the hot tub. There are no other bodies of water present. There is an alarm located inside the hot tub which detects motion in the water. The home has a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working smoke detector, working carbon monoxide detector, and working telephone. The licensee's CPR and First Aid certificate is current. Assistants Alexandra Catano and Rosa Padilla's CPR and First Aid certificates are current and expires 4/12/27. The licensee and all staff are in compliance with the immunization law. The licensee and assistants present have received certificates in mandated reporter training. Assistant A.Catano's mandated reporter training expires on 8/7/26, and assistant R.Padilla's expires on 8/5/27. The fireplace is screened to prevent access by children. The licensee conducts and documents fire and disaster drills twice a year . See 809-C for continuance Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02CCP. Licensee was encouraged to frequently visit our website at ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and updates. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms. To receive important licensed related information to licensed facilities, visit the CCLD Important Information website at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-carelicensing/subscribe and select the Child Care option to receive email communication. Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Facility Representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. See 809-C for continuance Facility representative A.Catano is aware she and licensee should have knowledge of all Title 22 Regulations and follow all Title 22 Regulations at all times, as well as follow manufacture guidelines for all equipment in the facility. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep , as an additional resource. LPA also informed Facility representative of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. During the exit interview, the facility representative confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility to her knowledge. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. No deficiencies today's inspection. Appeal rights provided and discussed. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with assistant Alexandra Catano.
