What the inspector wrote

On March 11th, 2026, at approximately 3:10pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) April Wright arrived for an Unannounced Annual Random Inspection and met with licensee Aracelly Choy. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the home by the license. Present during the inspection were ten (10) preschool age children, the licensee fingerprint cleared spouse/assistant. LPA toured the home to conduct a health and safety inspection. The licensees are in ratio today. Hours of operation are 8:00am - 5:30pm Monday through Friday. The two story home consists of four (4) bedrooms, two and one half (2 1/2) bathrooms, living room, kitchen, formal dining area, family room, backyard and garage. Family room has a classroom style setting for children in care. The home was neat and orderly with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort of children in care. There are age appropriate toys that the LPA observed to be in good condition, free of visual damage or hazards. LPA observed and licensee confirmed that there are no hazardous materials, including cleaning products, chemicals or toxins present during the inspection. LPA observed and licensee confirmed that there are no pools, hot tubs or any other bodies of water present in the home. LPA observed and licensee confirmed that there are no firearms or weapons of any kind in the home. There are child safety gates throughout the home located at the entrance to the kitchen, entrance to family room, base of the stairs, and from the entrance of the home to the living room. Pull down fire alarm is located in the family room on the wall near the bathroom. On Limits areas: Family room, downstairs bathroom, and backyard. Off limits areas: Entire second level of the home, Garage, formal dining room, living room, kitchen and laundry room, which will be inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors, child safety gates and visual supervision. Isolation Area will be an area in the family room(classroom). See LIC809C for continuance. There are age appropriate toys that the LPA visually observed to be in safe, good condition and free of visual defects or hazards. The home has a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working smoke/carbon monoxide detector, fully stock First Aid Kit and mobile telephone. All individuals subject to criminal record review have a clearance or exemption and have been associated to this Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA requested and reviewed the file of six (6) children in care. The children's files contained, Parents rights, medical consent forms and identification and emergency contacts. Licensee has required licensing forms needed when children are enrolling in care. The facility roster was reviewed and copies were obtained. The licensee conducts fire and disaster drills twice a year and the last was conducted on 1/16/2026. CPR/First aid certificates for the licensee and assistant were completed and expires on 11/23/2027. Mandated Reporter training certificates for licensee and assistant were completed on 9/7/2024 and 7/23/2025. All required forms are posted and visible for public review upon entry to the home. The licensee is in compliance with the immunization laws which pertains to all childcare providers. Licensee was reminded that training certificates must be renewed every 2 years. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee was encouraged to frequently visit our website at ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and updates. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, Licensee Choy confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. There were no deficiencies cited during todays inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Report was read and reviewed with licensee Aracelly Choy.
