Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with the director, Kathryn Schaeffer AKA Katie Turri, for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. The purpose of the inspection was disclosed. Present during the inspection, the director and four(4) staff members were supervising 20 school-age children. The program operates 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday, in MODULER L, consisting ( ages TK-1st grade) and ( ages 2nd to 5th grade) on the Cottonwood Elementary School campus. LPA inspected the facility indoors and outdoors for health and safety hazards. The facility has a fire alarm system, working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a telephone. During today\342\200\231s inspection, LPA did not observe any bodies of water. The director confirmed that there are no firearms stored on the premises. The center is in good condition, with proper temperature, ventilation, and no safety hazards. First aid kits are available. Furniture is in good condition, and each child has a designated chair and cubby labeled with their name. The bathrooms, separate for children and staff, were clean, safe, and free of hazardous items. Drinking water is accessible through water fountains and personal water bottles. The monthly menu is posted in the kitchen and the classroom. The facility provides snacks. LPA reviewed food storage and observed that all food was in its original packaging or labeled with an expiration/open date. Medications are securely stored in a locked bag in a kitchen, requiring a password for access. LPA confirmed that all medications are up-to-date. Emergency drills are logged, fire drill log indicates that the last fire drill was conducted on 03/20/2025. The outdoor play area was free from hazards. The facility utilizes the KT app for children to sign in and out the children. LPA reviewed the records. All children have emergency identification information on file. Staff records were complete, with all staff having criminal record clearances, CPR and First Aid certification, and Mandated Reporter training. See the next page. During inspection, Criminal Record Clearance - Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS.
